All the fruit and veggies in this juice are green. I was surprised to find that romaine makes a
good addition to fresh-pressed juices. Lettuces have gotten a bad rap for being nutritionally feeble, but romaine is quite nutrient-dense – meaning it offers plenty of nutrients per calorie. (Juicing tips and techniques: All Juiced Up.)
1/2 bunch spinach (6 oz/175 g)
1/2 head romaine, cut in pieces
1 large lime, peeled, halved, excess pith removed
1 large kiwifruit, peeled
1/2 English cucumber, cut in segments
1 large pear, stemmed, quartered
1 stalk celery, cut in segments
Process ingredients in electric juicer according to manufacturer’s instructions.
Makes 3-1/2 cups (875 mL).
