This strange but delicious smoothie pays homage to the culinary soulmates known as peanut butter and jam, yet remains healthful.
1/2 cup (125 mL) each: skim milk, lower-fat vanilla yogurt
1 small banana, broken in chunks
2 tbsp (30 mL) smooth peanut butter
2 tsp (10 mL) jam
1 cup (250 mL) ice cubes
In blender, purée milk, yogurt, banana, peanut butter and jam. Add ice cubes. Blend until smooth and thick.
Makes 2 cups (500 mL).
- I use strawberry jam, but you can substitute your favourite kind.
Kitchen Secrets: For an even frostier smoothie, freeze the banana.
